Summer is upon us out of nowhere so I’d better get some summer-themed book tags done. I found this one on Kristin Kraves Books and it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Turns out that I don’t read many books based on music as I had to reach back almost to this time next year to find one. Bri is an aspiring musician with undeniable talent for singing and for songwriting. While I didn’t like it as much as The Hate U Give, I still enjoyed it.

The court of Yan is so full of secrets that it’s a marvel that anyone can find their way around the intricate web of politics and don’t get completely entangled at once. I certainly got very confused as to who had which ulterior motive while reading this.
Another book based in Hawaii but in the modern day this time and centring around Maori traditions and, yes, riding whales.

Vampire fiction. My one big guilty pleasure which, dare I say it, might not be so guilty anymore. If The Beautiful proves anything, is that vampires can be well written!

Well, technically, it’s about heists and hijinks on the high seas but the friendship between Locke and Jean is one of the most predominant aspects of it. Neither would be anywhere without the other.

To the high mountains, to the Moon, to the palaces of the Gods themselves, this is one hell of an adventure! The book is beautifully illustrated, wickedly funny and also manages to give you some emotional moments too.

Now, I must stress that I don’t regret reading this because I think it’s bad. I regret reading this because I myself didn’t give it the attention it deserves. Kind of an ‘it’s-not-you-it’s-me’ DNF.

Light on story but very heavy on great characters and adorable dragons!

Bit of an obvious choice, isn’t it? I think it’s actually easier to name a character who isn’t annoying in the Twilight series. If they themselves aren’t annoying, the fact that they were so badly written will annoy you.
This is such a fun tag! I really want to read On The Come Up and I’ve just added Girl from Everywhere

Ooh this tag looks fun! Hahahahah I’m really tempted to reread Twilight now and see which characters I still like and whether my opinions change. Descendant of the Crane had SO many secrets and I’m really hoping there’s a sequel because I need closure 😂

Be prepared to dislike characters you previously liked! Twilight is not kind to re-readers.
