Reading Corner

June Reading Corner

I had a plan for redrafting. That plan has long since been forgotten. I tried to redraft a short story for a magazine. I’m doing my best but I can’t keep up my focus for long. I must admit that I’m seriously considering giving this Camp Nanowrimo a miss. I planned on doing my most radical redraft of my novel yet, ripping out many things in the hope that I can polish other things to perfection. Yet, I’m not sure I can face it.

Anyway, enough of me being a depressed writer. Time to be a depressed reader. I struggled with both physical books and audiobooks this time and didn’t read as much as I did last month. I also didn’t get to read as many LGBTQ+ books as I wanted to. I tried a new reviewing schedule to stop me beating myself up over not reading very much in one week and, while it’s early days, I think it is helping. I don’t feel like I’m rushing my reviews out at the last minute so much now. I hope it’ll help in the long run.
