5..4..3..2..1 – Book Tag! – Take 2

I was tagged by Madeline @ The Bookish Mutant to do this tag again. To make sure I’m not repeating myself, I’m going to try and limit my answers to books I read last year. So, this might end up being an informal ‘best books’ list for 2022 to make up for the fact I didn’t make a formal one.

I’m not sure who the original creator is, I’m afraid. If anyone can tell me, please let me know in the comments.

5 BOOKS YOU LOVE

The Indifferent Stars Above provided a gripping story of a historical event that is often prone to misunderstanding and melodrama. The Secret of Haven Point was a lucky find with lots of disability rep. The Cat Who Saved Books went deeper than just ‘books are great’ and showed the modern problems with reading. She Gets The Girl surprised me with how invested I became in the love story and Gallant surprised me with just how atmospheric a short book can be.

 

4 AUTOBUY AUTHORS

Neil Gaiman is still up there but Seanan McGuire is creeping up to the status of ‘autobuy’ with the Wayward Children series. Alice Oseman has all but earned that title as I work my way through all her books and I can’t resist a Wayfarers book so Becky Chambers has that status too.

3 FAVORITE GENRES

Is it cheating to put two types of fantasy? I don’t think so. I bought some interesting non-fiction last year but I think most of my reading fare has been middle grade fantasy and just full blown fantasy.

 

2 PLACES YOU READ

I usually make time to read over my lunch hour when there’s no other distractions but I mostly end up reading at home.

I got this as a Christmas present in 2021 and I’ve only just found a place for it in one of my reading challenges. I promise I’ll read it soon!
